Attended FAHS?
no
Class year:
1977
About Me:
I lived in Worfeldon in the summer of 70 and the first part of the school year (6th grade). Mrs. Sykes was my 6th grade teacher. Then we moved to Gateway Gardens 607 A 5. We moved back stateside during my ninth grade year. I was in band, choir, and Boy Scouts. We attended Rhein Valley Baptist Church.

My wife and I now have two grown children and have celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary!

My years at Rhein Main are still very vivid in my mind and will always be an important part of who I am.

I would love to hear from others who were there at the same time.

Thanks Tony, I had a guy call me this morning looking for work. This is the same call I get several times each week. It really breaks my heart to have to tell these guys no as I know they have families at home. My competition is a different story and my job there is to hold their heads under until they are beat. It is all part of it and I am going to survive and I am going to keep my men working. I would rather have my guys pulling overtime than dilute the work we have to help my competition or a strange looking for work.

Yeah you 100% correct. These guys are slowing or stopping new construction and going ahead with renovations and upgrades. We have take a scorced earth approach in our business. If it covers overhead and contibutes to the bottom line we are say no to nothing. This is widening our customer base and is killing our competition. One of my old competitors who used to take a lot of my business called the other day to see if we would sub him some work.... I offered to buy his tools. Business is a ruthless business. He did not care about me when he was low balling prices. Lowballing prices is why he had no reserves for getting through the tough times. Alot of our competition took this approach and have gone out of Business. We are taking no prisoners. What we are giving up on the margin we are more than making up for in the volume. Again, we are growing our base of new customers and killing our competition at the same time. As our name implies... Natural Selections - Survival of the fittest. Damn I sound ruthless. As was said in the Godfather.before his son got shot... Nothing personal... Just business.

He haas had this for about 15 years. From what I understand he is working full time and his wife said he is doing well. I have not spoken with him yet so I will pass on what you have said and will let you know. We are back at the "Birmingham Beast" hope to wrap up room tile this week and room carpet by next. Loads going on here. Zack is running a Hampton Inn Reno in Dalton and Shawn has his crew off to Mississippi today to get one going there. Loads of work right now. Looks like we have the rest of the year sold out and stull rolling into next so we are both happy and releved to have plenty to so. Take care.

Hi Tony,
I missed the Great Pumpkin this year but I have the video. I just need the time to watch it!
My class is great and I am really enjoying teaching this year. I am doing report cards right now and they still stink! They just require so much time at home. I am in the office tomorrow. My principal will be out, so if everyone behaves, I can get some of them done in the office.
I hope all is well there. I know that grandbaby must be so much fun now.

Take care,
Lynn

Hi Tony! Thanks for the message. I believe that we communicated earlier on the previous site (?). I'll have to get organized and start posting pics and getting in touch with folks. Great to be here and it's wonderful to have this site to go to.
Regards,
Red.

Hello Tony. I lived overseas for 9 years. My father was stationed at Misawa Japan for 6 years. We went back to the US for 30 days to travel from the West Coast to the East Coast so we could catch the plane to Germany. I graduated in 1971 and spent another year in Germany working at the Base Exchange until 1972 when we came back to the US., That is when the shock hit me. So much had changed. I missed my friends I made in Germany and the classmates that I will most likely never see again. It is not like we will have class reunions as if we went to school in the US.

It has rained here every day but yesterday. It is back raining again. It is playing havoc with our work as we are putting liquid membran liner in the shower pand and those have to be water tested and show to hold water foor 24 hours. We can't get our stuff to set up as it is too cool and too damp in the building. All our other room tile is done. I have taken to wearing a mask when I go into the building as I think all the dust and particulates floating around are what is messing with my breathing and giving me so much trouble.
