League),Mustangs and Jr. Rockets. We went to England and beat thier first place team. They were as big as men back then. We were bad to the bone. I was number 32 on that team. Left all my friends in Germany. Best times of my life.
Hi Mark, I don't know if you remember me but I looked at our yearbook photos and I do remember you....ha!! Izzy asked me if I did and I couldn't at first but when I saw your picture I did...........So this is so exciting to reconnect with all those long lost friends!!
It is fun to reconnect. We really did have a good time. RM was the place I lived the longest, in one place, at until I got married. It was a really special time for me.
I thought Elizabeth's family was from Massachusetts? Maybe that was her father's side. They were still at RM when I visited in '84. Still in the same apartment too.
I think what made RM special was that we had "freedom." We were all related by the virtue of being American. We felt safe. Maybe we were just ignorant... Remember the hitch-hiking to get from one side of the base to the other! OMG! I don't let my kids out of my yard these days. I live in Florida now. I remember all the Friday nights and Saturday nights at the ice skating rink. What a blast. My parents would just drop me off. These days, I don't like my kids to go the movies by themselves. What a big difference. Speaking of Freedoms, I remember you showing up at my window one night trying to coax me out. For that reason, my home security system today contains "beeping" when windows and doors are opened. I don't think my children would like you too much if they knew you were the one who planted that seed in my mind. LOL. I bet you didn't even realize the impact you made all these years later. I tell my kids they can get nothing past me, I've been there done that or at least been exposed to it. Thanks for all the memories, Mark!
Caroline
PS: BTW have you heard from Kenny Ward? He's another guy I remember.
Elizabeth and I were friends. Do you know where she is? I've been trying to find her, but her name is pretty common, not like ours. I went back to RM and visited her once. It must have been about 1984 or so.
HI Mark!
I'm a teacher and got busy with school and carting off my last child to college! I will get my pictures of all of us in Germany soon!
I definitely remember you being one of David's best friends! David has had a sad turn of events in his life. He suffered brain damage during high school and college (motorcycle wreck and diabetic issues). He lives in a sort of home for the brain damaged in Carbondale, Illinois. His short term memory has been affected, but strangely he remembers almost all of his time in Germany! Next time I see him I will mention you to him. I would guess he would remember you! Hope you are doing well.
Hi Mark! Yes, those were the three teachers! Guess you were a year behind me. Your picture in the yearbook looks familiar from seeing you around in school. Thanks for your message, now I know the other two names of the teachers from 6th grade.
