Ahh memories. Didnt play basketball. Dad restricted me to two sports per year. I chose football (Mustangs) and baseball (Braves). A couple more names in this photo. Front row, right to left, Rick Ramirez, ?, David Gatchel, Jay Ohfsdahl, Reader Throw…
I lived in Worfelden Germany and attended R/M Jr High and Frankfurt High School (graduated 1977). I have very fond memories of my time in Germany. I may break down and attend a R/M reunion one day if I can talk either of my sisters (Wendy '74 or Jeanne '75) to come with me. I currently live in Wareham, MA and work as the Controller/CIO for a metals company. I have three great children, Sarah (21), Brian (17) and Portia (8). I blame my inbred "wanderlust" for moving from the great state of Tennessee after 14 years.
I have tried to warn them that they may get more to show up than they think. The page is already full of people in and around our class year and as the page grows so will the interest in the get together. We will have to see. I am looking forward to it as well.
Hey Larry, I got in touch with Jim Murphy last night and told him about Dallas. He is just up the road in Oklahoma so he is keen to attend. He is going to get back on the Brats page to see what all has been going on. It would be great to have him attend.
yes. He lived in walldorf u the street from us. I spent the night at his place many times. He was a chubby red head kid. He has a sister but I do not recall her name. When the Pershing program finished where did you dad go? I know pop was fussing about the missle systems they put dad on after he came back stateside. Since he passed I have received alot of his stuff. Come to find out the two systems were the Patriot and the Hell Fire. Every time I see one of those Taliban or Al Quida guys get Zapped I think of my pop and say there ya go dad!
I agree. I remember his favorite punishment was laps and wind sprints. I think the most fun I had was when we played on the Chargers. I also like our days at Basket Ball and Mr. (Coach) Rogers. We had fun and he was cool.
Yeah, I may have it blended up but I am about sure it was Lt. Col. Pratt. I remember praticing over on the old base ball fields over by the gym. He used to lay us out in a big circle and make us do let lifts. I remeber ripping one and his responce was " Bless you son". Could still have it all blended and mixed up as I don't remember much from those days.
Wasen't it Bitburg were we traveled to and it started the game as a cold rain and went to sleet and then snow? That was one of the coldest days of my life but I just can be sure it was Bitburg. The field was in like a bowl cut out of a hill. Coach Pratt.- I looked at our Chargers coach and it was not one of those guys. Just the way I remember it.
Larry, I forgot we were also on the Ravens together. If I recall the coach was Lt. Co. Pratt. He was a Chaplain and a mean s o b. I never ran so many laps in all my life. Didn't we have a running back named Mack Shead? Or was he on the Chargers with us? He was a solid block of a guy. I still have scares on my hand where he put a mud cleat.
Yeah, be careful what you ask for. How many are going to be in Texas? Who all is invited? Politics, I see what you are saying. My problem is I can't play nice. I have too much trouble feeping my trap shut and the flys in. Ask me what you want but your going to hear what is on my mind... Good or bad. Got it from my mom i guess. Dad always just kept it quiet and then went off all at once. Mom was more the type to just get right up close and personal and let you know her thinking. I got that to a fault. As such, best I leave the politicing to others.
I think the the thing in Texas could draw quite a crowd. A lot of the East Coast Brats and those down here in the south are looking for something a bit more regional. For me a plane ride is a plane ride. Keep me posted.
